So here Matilda was, a fully functioning adult who had just purchased a property and built a house with her then fiancé. She worked at a high paying job, was getting married, had the car and boat; everything seemed great. And yet, Matilda was wondering, how this could be it? She had everything she was meant to have and was doing everything she was meant to be doing but still something was missing.
Matilda’s mental process had been thus: recover from her teen years, which had been difficult, buy some land, build a house, get married, have a good job etcetera, etcetera. Isn’t that what your parents tell you to do? Matilda couldn’t help but wonder why she was still unhappy. Why weren’t all these things, those society tells us to strive for, making her happy?
So, Matilda did what anyone going through a mid-life crisis would do. She ditched her fiancé, got a boob job, bought a Harley Davidson, sold the house, moved towns, started weightlifting, joined the infamous Lingerie Football League and went on a few holidays.
This all took some time. Matilda thought changing things and going in this direction would make her happy. Surely it would? But soon after implementing all these changes Matilda began questioning her life again, pondering, “is this all there is?”.
Matilda began doing some ‘soul searching’, by reading lots of biographies of people who have lived very hard lives, from cults, to sex slaves, abduction, child abuse through to genocide. Matilda realised that all these people had suffered such adversities and were able to overcome them to achieve some life fulfilment - and she wondered how she could get there too. Matilda then started to read self-help books. Book after book, she started to install new programs and strategies in her life.
It took several years to really move forward and looking back now, Matilda wished she had someone to guide and nurture her, sometimes kicking her butt through the process.
Matilda now has internal strength and happiness to be able to find fulfilment within herself. No matter what she owns or where she is in society’s standards, Matilda is in congruent coherence with her head, heart and gut.
If Matilda had heard this statement earlier in her life, she would have thought it was completely ‘woo-woo’. Because of taking the lead in her own life, Matilda is now able to live a life rich in abundance, love, respect, self-worth and satisfaction.
This has given Matilda strength and allowed her to manifest the perfect relationship, dream career, successful business, and harbour the most self-love she has ever had. Matilda has so much love for all other human beings, no matter where they are on their journey.
Matilda truly believes we are all doing the best we can with the resources we have at any given time. However, sometimes we struggle to recognise the tools that can assist us in difficult times and she wants to guide us to where we want to be.
